Stephen Uzzell Thankyou for your questions. Yes, an enormous amount of research was needed to write this book. It was fascinating, but very harrowing. One of the best books I read about the Jewish Resistance in Krakow is Justyna's Narrative, the memoirs of Gusta Dawison Draenger. She wrote her book in prison, on scraps of toilet paper, while awaiting execution after being captured. Unfortunately Gusta didn't make it out alive, but amazingly her story did.

Sorry to disappoint you but I don't believe in writer's block ! There were lots of difficulties along the way in writing such a painful and sensitive story, but I never came close to giving up. I knew this was a story that had to be told.

The 'gaps in the story' came from researching other men like Oswald Rufeisen who also led a double life. My main character is a composite of many real life heroes.

As to a physcial book one day, I do hope so. At the moment I am self-publshed but I would love to have the support of a publishing company in the future.
