Also, you've got to have a thick skin. It's hard to birth something and watch someone tear it down or misconstrue your art. But, it happens. Not everyone is going to get it or like it and that's okay. Keep it movin'!

This may sound elementary, but I wanted to write something that I'd want to read. I love fantasy, paranormal, horror, sci-fi and contemporary fiction. But I rarely find books I enjoy, especially in the fantasy genre, that have MC's that look like me. Also, I was tired of reading about vampires and werewolves (still love them though, lol).
