Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Hannah Stark One day I was playing trucks and trains on the floor with my son. He got frustrated that the trucks couldn’t fit on the train’s track. It got me thinking about how trucks and trains are similar but different. I also like to observe how kids use their emerging personalities in early childhood (I’m a public school teacher). Trucker was inspired by these observations.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Hannah Stark I try to distract myself by reading something by an author I love. If that feels like it’s not working I try listening to music and go for a walk in an unfamiliar neighborhood in NYC. The new places, people, and cultures inspire me. NYC is endless in that way.

Hannah Stark One biography and one historical fiction manuscript.
