By observing the selling, customer experience, and business development environment. Then, tapping into my 45+ years of soft-skills-related, business-development experience. Skills that have helped me to generate over 160 million dollars in new and recurring revenue for clients.

During a five-year period, I'd written over 45 articles on the subject of Soft Skills, or interpersonal skills such as: collaboration, innovation, leadership and communication. Skills that reflect common business dilemmas people encounter on a daily basis. Things like giving memorable presentations, preparing winning proposals, and communicating ideas in a convincing manner in order to get them implemented.
Recently, there has been an avalanche of articles written about Soft Skills, their impact on someone's career, and the difficulty employers have finding candidates who possess those skills.
Readers of my individual articles suggested I compile a collection of the soft-skills-related topics I'd written about, because they believed the humorous format combined with piratical takeaways would not only be informative, but entertaining and memorable as well.
It took me a few years of hearing people tell me that, until I finally listened to them and self-published, “Soft Skills. Hard Returns.” The eBook is an easy-to-read guide about Soft Skills with over 570 tips and reinforcing topic links.
