Jarm Del Boccio Occasionally I hear a tidbit of information about a person or event in history for which very little is known. It sparks the question "what if?" and I begin filling in the blanks!
Jarm Del Boccio Being able to inspire a young reader with tales of real kids who lived long ago, but who were very much like themselves. I want them to know even the smallest act of kindness or bravery can make an enormous difference in the lives around them. Jarm Del Boccio Sometimes, a trip to a new location, or an "author's date" nearby (museum, festival, etc.) can spark my imagination. But other times, there's nothing like a writer's challenge like NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) to motivate me.

Jarm Del Boccio Keep reading in the genre you want to write in. Make sure you write every day, either using a prompt, continuing a story you’ve begun, or creating a blogpost. It keeps you sharp. And join a critique group and writer’s group for support. . .
Jarm Del Boccio I feel sorry for the kids in the Bible who have made a huge impact on others, but have no name or backstory — so I give them both. There are so many historical events, too, that pass unnoticed, especially that involve children. When I uncover a gem, I write their story.
