David Samuel Hudson You write no matter what, even if the writing feels clunky and ineffective. Eventually, there will come a day when your writing feels stronger and smoother—and you can always go back to editing your previous work. Writing over a block is jumpstarting the engine: it's forced and strained initially but it will take you to the next good sentence and then the next great paragraph until there's quite a distance between your good writing and your worst moments. You shouldn't wait for inspiration or a 'good writing mood,' because that feeling is just a feeling. How it translates onto the page is another matter entirely.
