Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Wendy S. Swore I was bullied pretty heavily as a kid because of the blood tumor on my face and other things. For example, I had a preschool teacher tell the class I had the mark of the devil, and when I was shopping with my mom, a lady with teenagers pointed and said, "Hey look kids, that kid doesn't need a halloween costume--she's already got one."

I like to ask "What if" questions when I write. A Monster Like Me was born because I wondered, what if I believed the people who called me a monster?
