Hi, Michael! Thanks for your question. I was inspired by the idea of a structured, reticent girl who took a long time to see what was right before her eyes. I viewed this story as the journey of Drew's growth and how River was the key to her becoming the person she was meant to be. I am SO glad to hear you enjoyed the book!
