I lived it. It's my story. I don't know that I would have ever written my book if it weren't for many people around me that kept prodding me and encouraging me to tell my story. My hope is that it speaks to a wide audience for many different reasons.

It's true that sometimes you have to be in the "mood" to write, but I found that ideas and inspiration would come to me during the times that I least expected. There were many times that I would pull over on the side of the road and make a note on my phone, jot a note at work, or awaken with a thought to write down.

I am not yet starting on another book, but I am working hard to promote Lately Lesbian. I would love to think I could write another!

For me, writing my true story was very cathartic. I also was urged by friends and family to tell my story because they believed that it would speak to a wide base of people.

My book is an autobiography so I didn't deal with writer's block in the same way that writer's of fiction, for example, might deal with writer's block. My challenge was figuring out what details of my story would be interesting and engaging to my readers.
