Kelvin L. Reed "Once a Month" stems from a dream I had. Years ago, my wife's friend was going through a divorce. I told my wife I had a dream she told her friend if she was lonely she could borrow me to sleep with her for a couple of nights. My wife responded to my disclosure about my dream with three words: "Not for free."
Kelvin L. Reed My favorite fictional couple are from the popular television show "Dallas." Jock and "Miss Ellie" Ewing, played by Jim Davis and (primarily) Barbara Bel Geddes respectively, were the senior-age patriarch and matriarch of the rich and powerful Ewing family. It was the first show that featured an elderly couple who expressed their love for each other openly with hugs, kisses and tender touching.
Kelvin L. Reed My first bit of advise is to turn off the TV, put down the mobile phone, and get your fingers moving on that keyboard! I meet so many people who claim they want to write but when I see them weeks, months or years later they're still making that same empty claim. My second bit of advise for aspiring writers is to work on your craft. Take classes, join a writer's group, purchase books and magazines on writing. Finally, READ, READ, READ! If you're going to be a better writer you have to READ.
Kelvin L. Reed I just finished the final version of a novel titled Once a Month that will be released on February 1, 2015: Here's the description:

Tony and Rose Monroe, deeply in debt, need a substantial influx of cash or they stand to lose their upper middle class lifestyle. Fortunately for them, Rose’s best friend, Cam, a former fashion model turned venture capitalist with a talent for making money, is willing to bail them out. In return, Tony agrees (reluctantly) to have sex with Cam one night every month for twelve months. It doesn't take long for Tony, Rose and Cam to discover their pact comes with complications none of them anticipated.
Kelvin L. Reed I think like a writer so I see story ideas all around me--at church, at work, at the grocery store, in a parking lot. I've got ideas for books dancing around my head almost constantly.
Kelvin L. Reed I have a new book coming out on February 1, 2015 titled "Once a Month." It's about a financially strapped married couple who enter into a one-year contract with the wife's best friend: The husband will make love to the best friend once a month for pay. I got the idea after telling my wife about a dream in which my wife had told a friend (who was going through a divorce) that she would be willing to lend me to the woman for the night. My wife's response to my tale about my dream was simple. She said: "Not for free."
