I think about my work in progress constantly. Post-its everywhere. I'll write down a phrase here, a description there, and then I'm faced with a puzzle of snippets that must be put together. It's always daunting, but that's my flex. Seeing words on a page helps me put more words on the page. It's all about starting somewhere, without thought of perfection.

I get inspired to write by thinking about subject matter that moves me. Once a theme is identified, my fingers fly across the keyboard. In my book, HOT GIRL, "Kate" represents resilience. Every scene served as a brick to build up a young lady who has been through so much yet still manages to stand tall.
