Writer's Block is a misnomer. It should be called "Writer's Open Road." There are so many ideas out there! So many possibilities. My problem is that there are too many options. It's hard to narrow down what will happen when anything is possible.

While visiting Hawaii, I read a book someone had left behind at our house. It was about Eddie Aikau, a heroic lifeguard and surfer who disappeared at sea in 1978. The story about how he met his wife at the airport was so romantic that I had to write a book about it.
