Hi Monica. I read REVIVAL SEASON earlier this year, and it's been one of the best books I've read in 2022. Do you have a new book coming out? When you read, do you read for pleasure or for notes on craft, or both? I would like to write one day, but my reading life will be seriously undercut if I have to read every book for learning about craft. Sometimes I just want to enjoy a good book.

You'll see updates here or on my social media pages about the progress with that new one. To answer your question, when I read, I read for both pleasure and craft. Hello! I'm reading Revival Season now, and am loving it. My question for you is this: Do you have personal experience with family who preached? The details you describe in the book are so incredibly vivid.
Monica West Hi, Melissa! First of all, thanks for reading and reaching out! I have some preachers in my extended family (uncles, great uncles, etc.), but I didn't grow up with them in my immediate family. So I did a lot of research about what families like this look like and how the power dynamics are, and I used that information to write. I'm thrilled that you're enjoying it!
