Donna Thank you very much you are so kind. I enjoyed writing Mendelevskis Box very much from the idea the discovery of the suitcase gave me. )The full newspaper article about it and the search for its owner is here https://www.dutchnews.nl/features/201...)
Anyway to get back to your question, yes I am trying to write a second book but being unable to travel to the Netherlands at the moment is holding me back as I need to do research. The book is also inspired by a true story this time the brave actions of fishermen from what was the island of Urk on the day the Netherlands was invaded in 1940. It is another fictional Jewish story this time set during the war and tells how the family were hidden. Working title is Safe Haven Urk. Watch this space (hopefully)

I read about a suitcase found hidden in a house in Amsterdam since 1940 and Mendelevskis Box is based on that idea

I have an idea for another book based in the Netherlands in WWII it will be called Safe Haven Urk but so far I am struggling with it! I desperately need to do research in Urk but of course that's not possible at the moment due to Covid19

Never give up, keep at it, take advice and be flexible when you find that elusive publisher
Roger Swindells
Enjoyment mainly, satisfaction when that publisher says yes, seeing a book with your name on it and being able to say you are a published author. Nice reviews are a bonus

I wish I knew - I am suffering at the moment! Seriously though I try to plough on then revisit it the next day and do copious amendments and deletions I think it's important to get something down rather than just looking blankly at the screen and keyboard. At the moment 1000 words a day with half of them surviving is good
