I could be doing something very random and suddenly an idea will pop up in my head. I find that when I'm taking a walk or at the beach is when I usually get great story ideas.

Don't stop writing. If you absolutely love writing keep at it. Sometimes people won't like your book but its okay, sometimes it won't be for everyone. Also be open to critiques because they can make you a better writer and improve your work.

I had wanted to write a book about Ancient Egypt but I got the idea from a dream I had. That dream that Mia has in the beginning of The Power of the Moon and Sun was actually mine and that's what started it all.
