Jane Coletti Perry I grew up hearing stories from my immigrant grandparents about settling in a coal mining town, Cumberland, Wyoming in 1912. They spoke of the opportunity to work and excel, the friends they found in the other immigrant families, the winter blizzards, the dangers of coal mining, and the harsh life in this frontier town. I created a fictional story to honor my family before these memories disappeared forever.
