M.J. Lawrie Hi there.

Thank you for reading, and I am so glad that you enjoyed both The Last Witch and The Verity!
I had a small break over the festive season, but I am now back to work. This year I will be releasing another Verity adventure. I can't wait to get back into Scar's head :)
I am also working on something new. It will be a dark paranormal romance, That's all I can really say about it at the moment but I will share more soon :)

MJ xx
M.J. Lawrie I get extremely close to all of them, the good and the bad, and if I do let them go it's not uncommon for me to have a little cry afterwards. Unless they're a character I hate, then I may do a small happy dance of vengeance instead :) But that's what you want. A reaction. If you feel nothing when you remove a character, either because they leave or they die, then I don't think that character was written deeply enough and that their removal doesn't actually matter or drive the story forwards. So no one really cares that they're gone. Not good! If it really hurts the writer, then it should devastate the reader. That's an okay thing to do because that means I've created a character that the reader has really invested in and cares about. The same should then go for the story. If I don't break someones heart at least once with my stories (mine included) then I know I've gone wrong :)
M.J. Lawrie Hi Elizabeth. I am aiming to release The Last Witch 3 in December 2020. That's the plan anyway. The pre-order should be up soon. If anything changes I will let you know :) Thank you for reading!
M.J. Lawrie My nightmares are my main inspiration. One good nightmare (yes, I enjoy my nightmares) usually gives me a few ideas to jot down. Like I said, my work tends to be on the dark side.
M.J. Lawrie I am working on a few projects. But The Last Witch (Volume Two) is my main priority. I'm also writing a Novella about Lilly and Toby. As well as a stand-alone novel entitled 'The Verity'. Zombies. A sword-wielding heroine on horseback. And set in England, fifty years from now.
Lots going on.
M.J. Lawrie Write for yourself and not for others. Tell your story, the way you want to tell it. I was told once, that the biggest obstacle standing between you and success...is yourself. And that is so true. I was afraid to put my work out there for a long time because I was scared that people would hate it. But when I finally plucked up the courage to share it, I was thrilled to see that people did like it! (Not everyone. My writing is pretty dark at times) But don't let that fear hold you back. If you love it, someone else will too.
M.J. Lawrie When people enjoy my stories. Nothing better.
M.J. Lawrie I try to write through it. Writer's block happens. And the more you dwell on it, the worse it gets. I find the best thing to do is take a step back. Re-read a few chapters, and your character's journey will continue when it's ready. Sometimes, I spend a few days listening to music and let the scenes play out in my head. I find that helps.
