Cee Bowerman The book I'm working on right this minute was partially inspired by my Ancestry DNA results, oddly enough. That's all I can say about it now, but if you read my work, you'll find the book eventually.
Cee Bowerman Different things inspire me, but mostly it's the question - What if?
I see things on FB or on the news and let my mind drift and change the ending to something happier and more romantic.
One of my books (Lucky Forever) was based on a documentary I saw about a real life situation where the female teacher molested a young student and gave birth to his child. Having a son myself, that story really struck me, and I decided to change it up and focus on the boy in the situation and how it changed the man he'd later become.
Cee Bowerman Right now I'm focused on wrapping up the Texas Kings MC and the Conner Brothers. My focus has been on the Time Served MC that I'm releasing in tandem with Ciara James' Ares Infidels.
I have a few more series planned, and I'm excited to start writing those books for release after the Kings and Conners are wrapped up.
Cee Bowerman Don't give up and don't overthink things, just write. Sit down and let it flow, and worry about the details later.
If you're too busy thinking about the audience, the story you're working on won't come out the way you have it in your head.
Another thing is to find a trusted editor. Do your research, and find someone with references that you trust. That's hard to do when you're just starting out and can't afford someone, but as soon as you can have your editor go back and rework the books you've already released so that they're of good quality too. I'm currently working through that with the first books I wrote, and my editor is going through my catalog as she can so I can resubmit them with corrections and then get them to print.
Cee Bowerman I love that the characters I imagine mean so much to my readers. I really enjoy interacting with readers and talking about the families I've created, and the adventures they go through.
Cee Bowerman When I get writers block I either focus on something else to do with the book by choosing a cover, working out the timeline or even making a blueprint of the characters home.
If that doesn't work I move to another book I'm scheduled to release and either do some editing on works that I've completed, or start work on a book I've yet to write.
If all else fails I take a little time to regroup, and enjoy reading some of my favorite authors new releases, or rereading some of my favorite book series.
