Liz Frazier I love this question!! Easy - into the Wrinkle in Time World. This was the first 'real' book I read as a child, and the magic of it absolutely consumed me :)
Liz Frazier As a financial planner, I realized how many people don’t understand finance, are intimidated by it and avoid managing their money all together. I hear things like “I’m not finance-y”, or “My spouse is the one who manages the finances”. And It’s understandable why so many avoid learning about money management...

No one taught us.

We’re taught things like basic nutrition and safety as a child, so we can then develop positive habits that last in adulthood. Why, as a society, are our kids not learning finance until they turn 18 and then are thrown into adulthood to make critical financial decisions?

What started with some basic financial lessons for my own children, and seeing how quickly they absorbed this information, quickly grew into a passion for getting children started on the right track…leading to Beyond Piggy Banks and Lemonade Stands: How To Teach Young Kids About Finance.
Liz Frazier Inspiration comes to me usually as I'm trying to fall asleep at midnight, and I have to jot down the idea in my phone notes so I don't forget :)

Sadly, I don't get to write when inspiration hits me in normal life. It's actually the opposite - I have to tell my brain this is the time to get inspired to write - and it's based on when I can carve out a few hours based on the kids and my work schedules. I think that probably goes for a lot of authors juggling 100 things. When I have the blessed 2 hours dedicated to writing, I just start to write. And because I enjoy writing, writing itself inspires me. And when it actually starts to flow and make sense, then true inspiration takes over.
Liz Frazier Write everyday. It's a muscle that needs to be used and stretched just like any other. Write genres you don't typically use - you may find some inspiration when you get out of your comfort zone.

Also, make connections in your industry and tell people what you are doing. Most love to support authors and writers, especially if you have something amazing to say.
Liz Frazier I just start writing anything and everything that comes into my head. This sometimes includes "blah blah...what am I writing??". I find that the more I write, the easier it is to find the words and express what I want to say. I don't judge what I say, and write with the intent of getting in down on paper and editing later.
