Ana Maria Selvaggio Her grip on the door handle was satisfying, it had been a long time since she had been able to go out in public. The door wouldn't budge, though, the sign on the door reading that her favorite sushi bar had closed.
Ana Maria Selvaggio The world of The Expanse. My husband and I got hooked on the show then I started reading the books (which are huge).

Ana Maria Selvaggio I did a piece on creating your own sigils for everyday magic in the January issue of Kraft Paper Muse. [ www.kraftpapermuse.com ] I was going to book-bind my own little reliquary of sorts to keep all my sigils in, then realized other people may want to have a space as well, so I designed the workbook. The first few pages are a tutorial followed by 100 double-paged spreads with an index at the end for creating and collecting your own. And each spread is a walkthrough so you don't have to flip back to the beginning each time you want to make one.
Ana Maria Selvaggio Creating worlds. I love world-building. My husband teaches it and I teach map illustration; we teach K-12 online. The act of birthing a culture is a blast, the research behind it is always an awe-inspiring rabbit hole.
Ana Maria Selvaggio I believe in being "stuck" but not blocked. It's all a hard swallow sometimes and you just have to get up, get outside, get away from the screens, and breathe. A change of scenery helps the necessary perspective shift for me. Changing pens, shifting from paper to computer or vice versa, going out for a drive.

One trick that I've found works really well for me is to sit down with your characters and have a conversation. It's no different than doing a character interview so put the crazy label away. ha LARP it out, see what they want to do in whatever situation you are stuck in.
Ana Maria Selvaggio Getting away from screens. Reading a book. Cooking. Anything analog.
Ana Maria Selvaggio I'm currently working on the revisions for my paranormal thriller, Stalemate. My goal is to have advanced reader copies out by the end of June 2019.

e) Don't let guilt keep you from working on something. Life is busy. Pick it back up and move forward.
