C.P. Webster The trilogy ARVA, VALA, DEVA are a culmination of disassociated states, dreams and travelling in combination with my love of folklore, myth and legend.
C.P. Webster One inspiration are the great writers in whose shadow I stand such as Tolkien, Lovecraft, Howard, Le Guin, Garner and so many others. Sometimes ideas will come from an encounter, a strain of music and very often dreams.
C.P. Webster I have just completed editing the first draft of a book about photography in the Third Reich which is with the publishers for review. Now that is in the review process I can turn back to completing the last volume of The Albion Trinity - DEVA. This will conclude the story of Edith Blake and John Gabriel that evolved through Vol 1, ARVA and Vol 2, VALA. I aim to have it completed and in print/Kindle before Christmas. In addition, I am putting together a collection of Weird Fiction short stories spanning from when I began writing in the 1980s until the present.
C.P. Webster Belief in yourself is key. If you feel strongly enough about writing then follow that dream. I put my writing aside for many years to pursue an academic career and to develop my work as an artist. As rewarding and fruitful as this was I do wish I had stuck to writing and had the self-belief at the time.
C.P. Webster Simply writing, by forcing the process (even if much is later discarded) the block can be beaten ... music is another way!
