I'm inspired when I stop my busyness to watch and appreciate life around me. Sometimes it's in a noisy crowd of people; watching and wondering what each one's own story is. Other times it hits me when I'm alone on the side of a mountain beneath the pines. Inspiration is everywhere.
I find it helpful to slow down and take in all that I see so that I can assimilate "snapshot" details. These "snapshots" of everyday life then become the inspiration.

I take a break and take a hike -literally. If it's a major block I will take a longer break and write on something else (maybe a blog post) and find inspiration leading back to where I left off at the break.
