Danielle Martin Usually I find something else to do until I get the itch to come back to it.

If I'm really in the groove of writing and get stuck, I'll back up a few pages or chapters and read it from there to where I left off. Usually I find that stories tell themselves if you allow yourself to be the tool to record them, so this method allows you to jump start the train of thought you were on and keep going- sometimes anyway.
Danielle Martin My favorite part of being a writer is painting a picture with my words and knowing that it will create a different visual for each person that reads it.
Danielle Martin There is not a single thing you can do wrong in your writing. It is yours and yours alone. That doesn't mean someone else will like your work and that's okay. There will be people who don't like your style but that doesn't take away any value from your work. Own your art and embrace how it evolves over time!
Danielle Martin I have begun writing the sequel to Jordan Blue! It is less of a sugar coated story and is a modern day narration of a character anyone who reads Jordan Blue in its entirety is going to want to get to know.
Danielle Martin I tend to be an emotional writer. If I'm inspired, upset, happy or feeling especially contemplative I will usually reach for my pen to get whatever is overwhelming me out.
Danielle Martin I wanted to tell a story that would do justice to not only the challenges of living with a disability, but of the gifts a person with a disability may also have. I was inspired by stories of strong individuals that thrive in their reality- whether that means living with disabilities, working through a traumatic past, or losing someone you love. There are pieces of people and places I love all over Jordan Blue but what I wanted to do was create a space for people to feel safe facing what it means to grow up and dare to dream about what they could possibly become.
