Mariska Slieker I never stop a writing session at the end of a chapter/scene. Because then I need to start my next session with a new idea. So I always make sure to stop in the middle, so I'm still pumped up to get the scene out.
Mariska Slieker To don't underestimate it and to keep at it. It sounds really simple to string a few words together, but that doesn't make it a novel. Also in your head, this massive plotline may seem enough to fill 400 something pages, but I find in reality that you need a lot fewer words for things than you picture in your mind.

Mariska Slieker By reading. It tickles my own fantasy. And then when all the ideas in my head get to be too much I need to write them down. It took me over 20 years to create order in the chaos of small scenes etc, but once I got the hang of it, the ideas keep flowing.
Mariska Slieker I've always had a fascination for poisons, and the idea of a child assassin popped into my mind one day, and the idea was born.
