Telma Rocha Writing is therapeutic for me so the topics are reflective of my mood and mental state. From Far and Wide is deeply emotional, for example, as it represents a time in my life when I was going through rough times emotionally.

Hi Telma, Thank you for answering my previous question. It was a great surprise! I really enjoyed the book, but I don't quite understand what you mean by colonialism. Did I miss something?
Telma Rocha Hi Catherine, I was mainly referring to the Civil War that happened in Angola and wanting to bring awareness to that.

Why did you write The Angolan Girl? Why was it important to you to share the story of you grandmother?
Telma Rocha Hi Catherin, thank you for your question. I wrote The Angolan Girl hoping to provide inspiration to others going through their own difficulties in life. I also wanted to educate others on the issues around African Colonialism.

Telma Rocha A contemporary fiction, set in Manitoulin Island that was inspired by a motorcycle trip I took with my husband.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Telma Rocha If having a published novel is your dream, then never give up on your dreams! Write, write write, even if it means you are only writing a few words at a time. Read lots, and also read books on the craft.

How do you deal with writer’s block?
Telma Rocha I take a break from writing and I read, a lot! I read from all kinds of genre's to draw inspiration and get motivated. Reading is essential to writers.
