Raymond M. Hall My daughter began talking to somebody when she was around two years old. At first we thought it was an imaginary friend until an independant medium assured us that she was in fact talking to a young girl. We subsequently moved house and 'Sarah' stayed behind. however, my daughter has continued to this day to 'see' things.
Raymond M. Hall Fortunately it hasn't happened too often. When it does I pick up my guitar and disappear into music. That seems to clear my mind. I used to write and record a little. e.g. YouTube, My Friend The Black Dog that I wrote and played bass and rhythm guitar on. Recorded at Lawson Studio in the Blue Mountains of NSW.
Raymond M. Hall I didn't begin writing until I retired from professional life. What a mistake! I love escaping into my imagination and love writing.
Raymond M. Hall Don't get too involved with professional and academic methodology in writing. Go with your gut and let your imagination run riot.
Raymond M. Hall At present I am working my way through my titles using prowriting-aid to check for grammar and readability. I also use the brilliant new Kindle Create software.
Raymond M. Hall Sometimes the theme pops into my head and sometimes based on a real experience. The old bakery in The Haunting actually existed, in Lincolnshire. I inspected the vacant property with a view to buying it in 1976. On entering the kitchen area I found that I was unable to move. It was quite a struggle to exit the building. There was definitely something nasty there. I have no memory of locking the door or even returning the keys to the agent!
Raymond M. Hall Roger's Rise to Incredible Failure is the sequel to The Importance of Being Roger which I wrote some time ago. The sequel had been lingering in my mind and it was time to let it loose.
