Donald Furrow-Scott You don't have to know everything before beginning. It's ok to learn along the way. Let's say that writing a book is a journey across the country. If you are comfortable hitch-hiking, put on the backpack. If flying and confirmed hotel reservations are the only way you can be comfortable, then plan and work out how to afford the airfare & bookings.
There are many exercises, workouts, and tricks that can help at different times along the way. Gather them up! Keep them in your writer's toolbox! But keep them in perspective and timely. I fall back on Zen techniques while pondering these struggles and treat them like a Koan. The new ideas from this meditation that transform me instead of vice-versa usually provide the necessary satori or epiphany.

I am a farmer; that means long hours in the sun and rain, which can leave a person considerably drained of creativity in the evenings. So I prefer to write in the mornings.
