When I am stuck at any point, I move on to write something else. Or I go for a walk and let the cool air clear my head. There are times when I switch on a movie on TV or listen to my favourite music, till inspiration strikes me once again.

The best thing about being a writer is the fact that life can turn very interesting, especially when you sit on the sidelines and observe things happening around you. It is up to you to sift what you see, analyze it and turn it around to work for you! As Mark Twain put it, "Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please."

A good writer has to be a good reader. Read all that you can, especially the books of classic writers and writers you admire. Never get discouraged by rejects, which are part of life. And finally, enjoy what you write, so that readers will enjoy what they read when they delve into your writing.

Inspiration can strike at the oddest of times! It can be a walk in the park, a snatch of conversation, a funny image or even a joke that can inspire me. Life, in all its vicissitudes and eccentricities, is a sure shot unending inspiration always!

The idea for my latest book 'Shadow in the Mirror' came as a little wisp out of nowhere. One early morning, when I woke up it was there, and it was that tiny idea that went on to become a whole book.
