This is probably a cliched answer but Id love to go to Diagon Alley in Harry Potter because it has similarities to my hometown Edinburgh. I'd love to put on Harry's invisibility cloak and play pranks on people!

Grow a thick skin! Don't concern yourself too much with people's opinions because you cannot please all of the people all of the time! Also NEVER take criticism from someone you would never go to for advice!

I people watch and let my imagination go into overdrive! Once the creative faucet is turned on, it is very hard to turn it off. Writing is an addiction and the inspiration comes naturally to me so I feel lucky in that respect.

My new book The Chosen Seven was inspired partly by a very strange man I encountered while in Bali and partly by my interest in the Lindt Cafe Siege in Sydney in 2014. My social work experience coupled with my husband's police experience helped me shape how the story might unfold in a siege situation.
