Gill D. Anderson I have never known much about my father's side of the family, it remains shrouded in mystery! My imagination could easily go into overdrive about what I might discover if I was to dig deep enough and could be a plot for a future book!
Gill D. Anderson As I live in Australia, our summer has just come to an end! I enjoyed reading A Dark Matter by a fellow Scottish writer Doug Johnstone. It's a gritty crime thriller set in Edinburgh. Check it out!
Gill D. Anderson This is probably a cliched answer but Id love to go to Diagon Alley in Harry Potter because it has similarities to my hometown Edinburgh. I'd love to put on Harry's invisibility cloak and play pranks on people!
Gill D. Anderson I don't panic... instead I will do something constructive like proof read/edit what Ive done so far and maybe do a little brainstorming. Thankfully it doesn't happen too often.
Gill D. Anderson I love knowing that Ive contributed something to the world that resonates with people and that I'm able to leave that legacy behind when I'm no longer around.....
Gill D. Anderson Grow a thick skin! Don't concern yourself too much with people's opinions because you cannot please all of the people all of the time! Also NEVER take criticism from someone you would never go to for advice!
Write a little every day, it helps keep momentum going.
Gill D. Anderson I am currently working on my third novel called Melita. It covers the sensitive and sometimes traumatic relationship between mothers and daughters.
Gill D. Anderson I people watch and let my imagination go into overdrive! Once the creative faucet is turned on, it is very hard to turn it off. Writing is an addiction and the inspiration comes naturally to me so I feel lucky in that respect.
Gill D. Anderson My new book The Chosen Seven was inspired partly by a very strange man I encountered while in Bali and partly by my interest in the Lindt Cafe Siege in Sydney in 2014. My social work experience coupled with my husband's police experience helped me shape how the story might unfold in a siege situation.
