Surfing the internet: the (forthcoming) cyberpunk book Blood Hack is the result of switching between the vapidity of facebook and social justice articles on the Guardian whilst drinking wine and wondering what to write about.
Tarot cards: you deal out some cards randomly and, as the cards are supposed to represent general characteristics, you figure out which characters have been dealt together, and how they might be in a scene together.
