Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Jon Vassa While walking in the park. A group of monkeys surrounded me and my son, which was a little scary at first, but we stayed calm and walked by them without making eye contact. Afterwards when we were riding home, I thought how utterly terrifying it would've been if instead of running into 2 foot tall monkeys we crossed paths with dinosaurs instead. Even at 2 feet tall, a pack of hungry dinos might be less appeased by stealing my backpack with human snacks inside. . .

How do you get inspired to write?

Jon Vassa I'm not entirely sure. Sometimes it's like a gentle rain that hits me, and other times it's a massive hurricane tearing my metaphorical roof.
