Just Write!!! I've been writing short stories for most of my life, but all I've ever wanted to do was write novels. Once I found a niche that my ideas fit into I was ready to go. I write every day- I may cut and edit it to death afterward but getting the words down and expanding my ideas helps each story progress. So don't say you want to write, just write!

I had several short stories that I've let collect dust for years now. I was determined to put at least one of them to use, and ended up combining 3 different shorts. That meant redesigning the characters and combining some personality traits to make a more well-rounded character. Once I figured out how the stories would fit together I was able to write the rest of it to make a book.
