I write something every day just to keep in the writing groove and keep my writing alive and flowing. Every day I wake up gives me the inspiration to keep writing. I'm involved in support groups, cultivating new friendships, and keeping my mind and body active. I also write in a daily journal, and I'm writing a second book. The writing process itself is inspiring, especially when you've written the perfect sentence or paragraph that encapsulates whatever message you are trying to convey.

Sometimes thoughts and ideas flow easily and other times I find myself staring at the computer screen for hours with my mind drawing a blank. It happens to all writers at one time or another. If no ideas are flowing, I will do something different like let our dog take me for a walk, go out for a run, or take a nap in my favorite recliner chair. When I return to my writing, I feel recharged and the writing feels more natural.

The seed was planted to start writing my book when I discovered at a young age my love of writing. The idea began as a way to document the musical history of the rock band I joined in the early '70s, especially after reforming the band with new members after being rediscovered by a Chicago record label after 40 years of obscurity. As I started writing, the story progressed from biography to autobiography to give the reader a personal perspective of how our band rose from the dregs of obscurity to an almost cult-like, fanatical fan base world wide!
