Jenny Knipfer Two titles on the top of my list are: The Spice King by Elizabeth Camden and Meet me in Monaco by Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb.
Jenny Knipfer Narnia all the way. I would hopefully meet favorite characters and get to be a part of a new tale of Narnia.
Jenny Knipfer So far I've not experienced significant writers block. If I sense a blank when I'm ready to write, I give myself time. I step back and run an inner dialogue with my characters. This usually sparks something. The best preventative I've found for writer's block--writing. I write whatever drops into my noggin. I clip, chop, and edit later. Keeping the words flowing, even if they may not be the words I stick with, helps.
Jenny Knipfer I get to do what I love!! How the words move from my thoughts into a story fascinates me. It's a game and a challenge, but also a release. Writing equals therapy for me.
Jenny Knipfer First--read. You have to feed your mind to have something to give to the page. Pay attention not only to how the author crafts the tale but structure. What POV do they use?

Second--practice. You only become good at a craft when you do it over and over again. (I took piano lessons for many years. I know what it means to practice.)

Third--learn. Read books on creative writing. Exercise your writing muscles by free writing, using specific words, collecting words you like, etc...

Fourth--be open to constructive criticism. Join a writing group, online or face to face. Other sets of eyes can see the rough spots in your work that your eyes may miss.

Fifth--write, write, and write. Be honest. Be real. Be you. People want to read unique stories. Only you can tell your story.
Blessings, J
Jenny Knipfer I'm formatting my second novel, Blue Moon, and revising my third in the series, Silver Moon, while I write the fourth book--Harvest Moon.
Jenny Knipfer On a hot July evening, I took the garbage out after dark. As I stepped out into the heavy air of a coming storm, I looked to the southwest past a grove of pine trees edging the farm field and saw a red moon. It's the only red moon I've ever seen. I immediately went back to the house and wrote about what I saw.
The crux of Jenay's story came from a friend who had been a part of an accidental death. I meshed the setting and the theme together with parts of my heritage and crafted the tale of Ruby Moon.
Jenny Knipfer Reading inspired me to write. Books by L. M. Montgomery and George MacDonald fed my imagination as a young woman and lit a spark in me to use words to tell a heartfelt and meaningful story.
