Howdy Ross! I've had the opportunity to get into minimalism again with Chuck Palahniuk's latest, The Invention of Sound, which is incredible (as expected) and I came across your profile. I'm following you now across the 1s and 0s, partly because you're into the same styles and partly because you hail from Bromley, I hail from Carshalton (local high-five); anyway, do you have a short-story set one could sample?
Ross Jeffery Hi Keith, I know I've already reached out on Twitter so all good. I just didn't want to see an un-answered question on here. Yeah I come from Downham originally, lived in Bromley for a while too, now reside in Bristol. I'm also busy working on a short story collection... when it's coming out I'll let you know, just working on the next novel Hostage at the moment, and writing short stories in some down time!

Ross, is there a section of the book that you LOVED, but had to cut out? Any of your books. I think I own all of them.
Ross Jeffery There was a graphic part to a scene in Tome which I cut out from the final version because I'd already gone there and it only served to really get the point across in a already disturbing scene, it was too much so I pulled back on having that out in the world... it was dark!

Are you writing more books set in Juniper and when and how many? A thousand and immediately, you say? Oh yay! I'm impatient so can you beam them directly into my mind, thanks.
Ross Jeffery Sorry, I always forget to check this section out on Goodreads. The answer is YES! There will be a third book, entitled 'Scorched' and I may also release a short story collection about some of the lesser known characters - if after that a little story pops to mind that I think will fit, who knows... maybe another novel a year or so down the line! Juniper lives on in my mind so could sprout more stories again!

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Ross Jeffery Read, read and read, then write, write, write! You only become a better writer by doing those two things. Also sit your ass in the chair, even if you don't want to, the only way the book or the story is going to get written is if you sit your ass in that chair and get on with writing it!

What are you currently working on?
Ross Jeffery A trilogy of interconnected novella's and novels called the Juniper trilogy...think Castle Rock and you're in the right ballpark!

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
Ross Jeffery My most recent book was based on a short student film I'd watched whilst at Uni, it's actually nothing at all like it now, but the seed of the idea came from there. I started writing this as a short story, but then it just grew organically and now has turned into a trilogy of books - the first Juniper is finished and is more of a novella, which should be out later in the year (2019) the second of the trilogy I am currently working on now, it's bigger than the first novella and encroaching on novel proportions - this hopefully will be out in 2020 at some point. The third is in my head, all mapped out, but book two needs to be finished first!
