There's a lot of other things writer's need to do beside write. When I'm in the productive groove, I just write fast and furious. When I'm not in that groove, I do things like write this answer.

So my first book, A Young Devil's Prayer, introduced some ideas about how God's grace could even reach into Hell to forgive and save souls.
But I didn't flesh out that. And I really didn't do much with Heaven. Oh, and there are specific plot questions from volume one that are yet to be answered.
So all of those thigs are feeding into the next Sinmonger story.

I started with the idea of using Hell as a laboratory to question and test the way society is designed. So there's a scene about Mudsill Theory that was one of the earliest scenes I wrote. From there it just grew as the two characters explored issues of prejudice and romance.
