I have had the opportunity to be impacted by a lot of people in my life. Some of those were individuals that I knew personally, and others have impacted me through their books or speeches that I have viewed online. I am inspired to write by hoping that my written words can have the same type of impact on people. I hope that God is able to use me to assist individuals in overcoming a tough time in their lives.

The best thing about being a writer is that I have hopefully used my words to impact someone in a positive way. My entire goal with my book was to be able to positively impact one person. If that goal was accomplished, then all of the time spent writing and researching was worth it.

My advice would be to write about something you are passionate about. I have had a goal of wanting to write a book since I was in middle school, but I could never really devote myself to the fiction that I tried to write. Once I began writing about something that I was passionate about, it was easy. Writing can be difficult enough on its own, do not make it any harder by choosing to write about something that does not set your soul on fire.

I have always been a huge fan of underdog stories, whether they are in sports or just dealing with various people overcoming adverse life situations. The Bible is a book full of people who overcame some of the greatest odds in history. All of us go through difficult times in our lives. Sometimes the biggest encouragement someone in a dark place can receive is when they see someone who is on the other side of a struggle. That's where this book's inspiration was derived. I wanted to show people that there is hope for the dark times in life. We have read of people in the Bible who went through the hardest of times, and yet, God used them in incredible ways.
