This book was inspired by the true story of an ancestor of mine, who I found out about whilst tracing my family history. To my surprise I found he had been sentenced to 7 years transportation just for stealing a few chickens. It has been a fascinating journey of discovery to find out what happened to him, but I won't give too much away!
