Hi Steven, have read all your books to date and purchased Extreme Punishment in October and have just gotten around to try and read it but .... the font size is not changeable and the font on the original Kindle download is too small to read. I have deleted the download and re-downloaded it - to the same result. Any thoughts? (unable to claim a refund due to the torturous methodology employed by Amazon).

Have you checked the Amazon link today? Amazon is probably losing customers for you - I just checked to see if they had fixed the price (I sent them a message about it yesterday), it is now $40.02 for the paperback. Not sure how much you can do about it, but maybe if they hear directly from you or the publisher, they may move more quickly to fix things. Thanks for the B&N link.
Steven B. Epstein This apparently results from an algorithm Amazon uses to mark up products it sells. There is unfortunately nothing I or the publisher can do except to redirect customers elsewhere for the paperback version. But for those who want an ebook, Amazon is definitely priced right at $8.95.

Hi, is the price of the paperback on Amazon a misprint? Also, if the book was released yesterday (Oct 9), why would it take until Nov 1-10 to receive it? Are you not putting this in hard cover form? The price for the paperback is extremely high.

Hi, how do I go about ordering Extreme Punishment? It's not listed on Amazon yet. Have you thought about starting a YouTube channel to cover Charlie's criminal case? I appreciate your insights.
Steven B. Epstein So sorry Amanda, but I didn't see your question until just now. You can now pre-order EXTREME PUNISHMENT on Amazon. Release date of print and Kindle versions is 10/9/22 (what would have been Dan Markel's 50th birthday). The release date of the Audible version will likely be a bit later. And no, I don't plan on having my own YouTube channel. I think you'll learn a lot about what is likely happen in Charlie's case by reading the book.

Ready for your next book, will it be released in July or August?
Steven B. Epstein So glad you asked. My next book, EXTREME PUNISHMENT: The Chilling True Story of Acclaimed Law Professor Dan Markel's Murder, is set for release on October 9, 2022, which would have been Dan Markel's 50th birthday. It should be available for pre-order on Amazon a few weeks before then. The book will be available in paperback, Kindle, and Audible.

Do you ever watch the real crime channels? (Like ID/HLN/Oxygen) I'm asking because I see a lot of stories there that I think would be great books for you to pursue writing. :)
Steven B. Epstein Jeanette, believe it or not, I'm not a true crime "junkie" like most people who read my books. If I latch onto a story, I do review any exiting documentaries on that story for factual information and leads. But I almost never tune into these channels for entertainment.

Be on the lookout for my next book, which should be released this summer. It's about the execution-style slaying of Florida State Law Professor Dan Markel. The same story was featured in a wildly popular podcast called "Over My Dead Body" on Wondery.

Not a question, but have now read both of your books. Excellent reads, fast moving, and hard to put down. Many details, but not wordy, to the point true crime telling. Now the question: are you writing another book?

I anticipate my next release this summer, about a Florida State law professor named Dan Markel who was executed in his garage. The same story was featured in the Over My Dead Body podcast on Wondery.

I just ordered your book. I enjoy true crime and hope I like your book. I live near Woodland Park, CO where Patrick Frazee is accuse of murdering his "fiancee", the mother of his child. Her body is still not found. It's a fascinating crime and those who know him have different assessments of him. The trial has not yet begun but we all hope to see a book one day. Wondered if you might be interested?
Steven B. Epstein Though I appreciate you bringing that case to my attention, I'm not looking to write another book at the moment. This was my first one and took a tremendous amount of time. Also, I'm much more likely to take this plunge again about a North Carolina crime, as I would likely have greater access to resources and people involved. I hope you enjoy MURDER ON BIRCHLEAF DRIVE!

Hi there! I enjoyed Murder on Birchleaf Drive. Some years ago true crime caught my attention and that's about all I read now. As a former legal secretary and court clerk, I enjoy the courtroom banter also. Keep up the good work, and what's next?
Steven B. Epstein So glad you enjoyed it! Would appreciate a review on Amazon if you are willing. This all is so new as a first-time author, I'm not yet thinking about doing another one. But if another story like this one comes along and no one else steps up to the plate, I would likely take another plunge.
