Elizabeth Pietrantonio I don't honestly know. I am trying to create my storylines for the third book in the series - but I don't think of it as being blocked. I think that I haven't dug deep enough and I will wait and watch for the story to take shape. This usually happens when I am on my walks, or playing with my grandchildren.
Elizabeth Pietrantonio Bringing characters to life - and watching as others get to know them! And, of course, finding your imagination - and letting it fly!
Elizabeth Pietrantonio Love the characters you create. Tell the story as if they were your family. Find support from people who will give you honest feedback - and have a cheering section on the sidelines from your family and friends. Keep to your deadlines and be disciplined.
Elizabeth Pietrantonio I have just completed the second book, The Case of the Locker Room Thief - and it is currently with my editor. I am now thinking about the storylines for the next book. The first one was Technology - the 'T' in STEM. The second book is Math - the 'M' in STEM and I hope to focus on Engineering - the 'E' in STEM for the third book. I need to dig deeper in my imagination for that one!
Elizabeth Pietrantonio Of course, I am an engineer! Process and deadlines are everything! LOL I set my own deadlines - and keep to them. I layout my storylines by chapter then I make sure I write every morning for two or three hours. I can see the characters when I write - and time goes by very quickly!
Elizabeth Pietrantonio I love storytelling and believe that it is a good way to engage people in a message. I have three messages in the book: STEM is a team sport. Diversity makes a team stronger. And you can't be an expert without being a beginner first. This was my way to get those messages across to young girls.
