Yes, Forged by Blood is a prequel to an upcoming series and can be read as a standalone, though the series itself has been terribly delayed due to personal commitments and other projects ❤️

(view spoiler)[This is a hard question! And the answer to this question requires a spoiler warning. There are lots of scenes I enjoyed writing, but those particularly fun to pen were the ones revolving around Anaya and Samael in my series The Light of Darkness. In the second book, there is a particular scene after their reunion which I love! It's not sexual in any way, but showcases how much they care for one another instead. Anaya takes care of Samael in her home, and the whole segment is very sweet and I really enjoyed creating it. (hide spoiler)]

I love this question because - in a way - I think it is hard NOT to put something of ourselves into our characters. Our knowledge and preconceptions will always affect our way of thinking, even when we don't actively allow them. And this includes writing, I believe.
So, I suppose each of my characters has a little snippet of me in there somewhere ;) But most are inspired by other people or completely fictional. Anaya, one of the main characters in The Light of Darkness series, is probably the one closest to how I am as a person.
To take inspiration from real life is a must if we wish to create believable, complex, and fleshed-out characters. In my humble opinion, anyway :)

I don't think anyone can go through this pandemic without it affecting our lives. However, my writing has not changed much since it all started. Due to my writing routine being mainly to smash some words out at night when my kids are in bed, I haven't really had any more or less time. Besides, I don't think I could ever have enough time to write. My days need to be - at the very least - 36 hours long, I think!

Haha! Thankfully, no, I haven't. But I suppose it's only a matter of time! :)

With three kids and little free time, my writing space consists of a laptop, a laptop board, and sitting on the sofa with any number of children either beside me, on me, crawling around me, etc. :) I also write at night when they are in bed. I'm usually the most creative during the day, but since I don't get much time throughout the days, my word count is more likely to rise at night.

By everything around me. My work, my family, my friends, books, films, TV-shows - you name it. And if I look for a specific type of inspiration - say, romance - then I will focus on watching or reading the said genre. And sometimes, inspiration just falls on your head. You overhear or see something funny by random, and you note it down, ready to be used whenever it fits the story ;)

I am currently working on more books in The Prime Series, as well as a super exciting and completely new project. We will have to see when that comes to light though :)

I have never really experienced a bout of proper writer's block, but perhaps it is due to the fact I tend to immediately change my direction if I feel the inspiration is not there. I do drawings, read other books, or start on a different part of the story in my current WIP where I know what I want to write. I would basically leave the scene I am "stuck on" until later :) Inspiration will eventually hit ;)

I only need one: The children have been silent for awfully long...
