Kristin Giese Skincare industry crashes and stops making all potions, lotions, and elixirs. As a 44yr old woman this is my mind's worst horror show.
Kristin Giese On any given Sunday, I might answer this differently. But considering Instagram is currently splashed with fashion, I might pick Valley of the Dolls just so I can go in their closets.
Kristin Giese I checked off two recently and both were amazing. Three Women and Where the Crawdads Sing. Glorious. Up next, I'm eyeing Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld, because I never read it and someone reminded me of it last week and Less. I heard it was too good to miss.
Kristin Giese Hi Fazila- So glad you liked it. I am already working on the initial pages of the second book as I hustle to build the appetite for the first book. Your read and your share mean so much to me as both help me get the word out. So, thank you. Love the Turkish TV series reference. I am so glad that you found it episodic in that way. It might be because I currently work as a producer and talent manager and originally thought of the concept to sell as a scripted show. I wrote it first to build my resume as a writer. Thank you again for reading! All best, Kristin
Kristin Giese I write through writer's block. If the story or piece I'm working on isn't moving, I swap to an instagram post that I can nail. Sometimes having a win in whatever form creates the ground swell you need for the words to flow.
Kristin Giese The art of telling a story, on a page or at a dinner party, is a gift. It means you can connect to others. You can move them, make them laugh, teach them, or take them to a new understanding. I am in awe of the fact that we get the chance to bend someone's ear and maybe capture their heart.
Kristin Giese Write, everyday, in all forms. Today, it isn't just about plot and characters on a page. It's about instagram, social marketing, and standing out. You have to work on all tracks if you want your work to rise above the din of so many other amazing artists claiming their space, sharpen your pencil and your social sword. There's room for all of us but you have to hustle to claim it. Celebrate the work of others. Humbly ask them to celebrate yours. Oh, and hire people to help you look as polished as you can. You'll get there and I hope I do too. We got this!
Kristin Giese Right now, I'm focused on Unverified and making my side hustle my main hustle. We also develop talent and shows (mostly in the lifestyle and reality spaces) so we have a zillion things happening. But, if I'm in the pedicure chair or traffic, I'm conjuring my next novel in my head. Gear up. It's going to be fun!
Kristin Giese I had to write in between running my main hustle of my company. I've always written copy and content or press answers for clients. In fact, I'd studied speech writing in college. That's what I thought I'd do professionally. In both instances you learn to write fast and tailor it to someone else's voice. Writing on demand became my muscle memory. But, it felt good to flex in a new way...in my own voice.
Kristin Giese I work with talent and TV development in the reality space. As the channels crowd with more and more shows for us to watch and, yet, somehow I find that less and less that I want to see, I started dreaming up an idea that I wish was there. Unverified came into view. I took some meetings to sell it first as a scripted show and decided to just write it myself in the meantime.
