D.P. Haka I get inspired by every little thing in my life, but the most common inspirations come from my own memories and dreams/nightmares. In real life, I always have a hard time letting things go, so not only do I remember things/events from my childhood or dreams, but also how I felt in those moments.

Sometimes the only way for me to express those emotions is by writing them down, and when I get enough of them, I would spin and mix them until they become one coherent story.
D.P. Haka About a year before I started writing this book, I had a nightmare. The terrible feeling I got from the nightmare stayed with me for a long time, because it was something that could very well happen in real life.

It's terrible to have something bad done to you; bad enough that you will always remember it. But what if something terrible is done to you without you even knowing it, or remembering it? I personally think this one is even scarier. Would you then want to know it at all? Or would you rather not know, ever? After all, what you don't know won't hurt you.

So I played with the idea in my head, taking the thrill from the nightmare and mixing it with memories and other stories I had.
