But He'll Change came to me while developing a work of fiction based on domestic abuse. As I assigning backgrounds and emotions to my characters, all the reasons women stay enmeshed in violent relationships began running through my head, waking me at night, tugging at my sleeve during the day. BHC insisted I put aside my other book and write the book I wish I'd had when I left my former husband.
When I hear from women who tell me But He'll Change has made a difference in their lives, I am grateful and humbled. While I'd like to take credit, the truth is that these brave women did the work to change their own lives, I just shared what I learned during my healing process.
