Kathleen Fair My best moments are when I reread something I wrote and react emotionally--laugh at something funny, cry when the characters are experiencing sadness. I guess it is when my writing takes me into the world of my characters.
Kathleen Fair I do something else--quilt or read--and wait for inspiration to hit at 3 am when I can't sleep.
Kathleen Fair Not so much in my life, but in life of a family member. There seems to be an unexplained gap in the relationship between my great-grand parents--of more than 10 years. Would love to know what was going on. Perhaps my imagination can fill in the gaps and it might be a topic of another book.
Kathleen Fair Many years ago, I spent two summers doing archaeological work in Winchester, UK. My site both summers was the ruins of the twelfth century bishop's palace built by Bishop Henry of Blois. I did some research on him long before the internet made international research possible. Then about 6 years ago, while wandering in cyberspace I found translations of some letters written by his mother, the Countess Adele. I was hooked. A picture formed in my mind of a elderly nun receiving news from and about her sons--one a powerful bishop, the other a king. From that image this book grew.
