M. Daniel Smith That would be the Legacy's Road series. It started one morning, lying in bed, the following words coming through: (Please excuse the terminology, but honesty, while not always the most politically correct policy, one I hold tightly to) ((look away, if easily offended, final warning!)) Hairy Nuts. There. The words immediately changed by my waking mind to a name, knowing I'd gotten it wrong on first review. Becoming Harry Knutt, or Harold, as I came to realize, looking it up upon rising from my bed. Knew he was English. Knew the date was 1758. The rest fell out upon the page, u planned. Unknown. Reading the story as it came to me. Like all the other writing I've ever done, and will always do.
M. Daniel Smith By questions like this. By a stray thought, catching my ear, raising a new consideration or viewpoint, compelling to explore. But most of the time, in the early morning hours when the stories find me.
M. Daniel Smith Sequel to Legacy's Road: The Red Path. Second in a series of.... a handful or so.
Coalescence: The View Within (book one) coming out soon.
Coalescence: The View Without (sequel)
Rewrite of my first novel, which needs to be restructured, now that I think I know what I'm doing.

M. Daniel Smith My advice is what my Grandmother once told me: everything is grist for your mill. What she didn't say, but I read between the lines was: everything is in play. All the joy, pain, loves gained and lives lost along the way. Every turn in the road, trail, or step taken in a dark wood. The sweat, blood, tears, and fears of those who expose themselves fully to their emotions, daring to dance when everyone is watching. All the things that make you sigh, put down. From sleeping babies soft breath in your arms, to the sound of a butterfly wing, in flight. Write.
M. Daniel Smith Talking about writing. And the worst? Assuming the question posed, next? Not talking about writing. Thank the writing gods for a split personality (or more) to keep me company throughout the day and early morning hours. And my dog. Who is fascinated by every one of my new ideas. As long as I'm holding a treat in my hand.
M. Daniel Smith By avoiding it. But seriously, I have never placed mind to mood, pen in hand or laptop in.... lap, and failed to find the first word waiting on me, the next in follow, along with the rest. Whether writing a letter, or poem to a loved one, or a story made into a novel. Yet. But the day is young. So I shall see. Hubris going before the slate, left bare.
M. Daniel Smith Jame Clavells Japan, as he described in Shogun. Would wander the l a nd, from oceanside to mountaintop, adding everything experienced to my own collection of memories, to date.
M. Daniel Smith I approached the chalkboard, nervous and uncertain of the answer, suddenly aware I was not wearing pants. I started to run from the room, when I realized it was a dream, then my heart sank when I realized it was real.
