I'll write about "anything" until the block fades away. Then I'll write about the topic I was supposed to be focused on...or I'll use the "anything" and turn it in to "something". :-)

I'm a Professional Scrum Trainer (PST) with Scrum.org. I work with teams all over the world. After many years of doing this, patterns emerged. Many software development teams are held back by similar patterns of behavior, practices, and beliefs. Fixing Your Scrum was written to help teams break through past practices and work towards becoming high performing delivery teams.

I don't wait for inspiration. I sit down and I write. I also keep a notebook with me incase my muse sleeps in and decides to put an idea in my head after I'm away from the keyboard. :-)

Write. Write. And then write some more. It takes time to find your voice. It takes time to learn how to write things that people want to read. Enjoy the process and show up each day and write.

The best thing about being a writer - especially in the non-fiction space - is getting feedback from a reader that something in your book helped them with their job or made their life better. Fixing Your Scrum is all about helping teams fix practices that are holding them back. When a team breaks through, that's inspiring. Those moments are amazing.
