I honestly don't know. Truthfully, the idea usually only begins to make sense half way through the writing process. I often start with a scene or a character rather than an idea or a concept.

One of my children gets frustrated with himself when he can't sleep. He tells me, 'Mommy, I'm trying to force myself to sleep, but I just can't do it.' Writing is the same: You can't force the words to come. The story will only reveal itself when it's ready to be told. So don't be too hard on yourself. Take a walk. Take a bath. Call a friend. But make sure you come back to the keyboard and try again later.
