I love reading autobiographies and crime - suspenseful stuff.
Unfortunately for me, my wife's choices, often listed on my page, perhaps cause an eyebrow to be cocked. And you do not want to cock an eyebrow I assure you!
I delete them when I am able so they are okay for the first page usually, but she reads at a hell of a pace! Why me?

There are several, some are so bizarre you probably wouldn't find them in a work of fiction. You will find them in my memoirs, however, 'Twisted Plots and Plans.'
Police memoirs are always interesting (at least they are to me), because regardless of when they were written they include something that never changes: Human nature.

I will usually actively think for an initial plot. Sometimes my experience as a Detective or in other walks of life comes into play. Certainly various scenes come from something I have witnessed or recall, but many are invented of course.

I am currently writing my third book 'Addressed to Kill' whilst at the same time narrating my first book 'One Oblique One' for Audible which I enjoy very much and I am loving the way it is coming together.

To write what you want to write. Ignore a lot of the 'advice' that people give, often non-writers. By all means take advice but be selective in what makes sense to you. Keep writing and do not be put off by rejection. Writing is so subjective you must control it, and stand, and fall, by what you decide. If you don't and it fails you will be tormented by 'what if'? Nobody really knows anything - the amount of classics that were laughed at originally, by people who thought they know best, is well known.

The thrill for me is creating something new out of thin air and then beyond that; the knowledge that it has given people pleasure.

I am fortunate that I don't suffer with this. I can always write something and if I am not happy I will mould it from there or indeed scrap it later in the editing phase.
