Ligia de Wit My city went through a tragedy: a devastating earthquake that left hundreds without a home, parents without their children and kids without their parents. It was heartbreaking. But then I noticed how the people reacted right away to help those less fortunate and it was so touching, so inspiring, I had to put it in words to thank them.
I hope I did those brave people justice because they gave me hope about humankind.
Ligia de Wit I don't need much. Every time something catches my eye, an idea starts to form. My problem isn't lacking from creativity but from time to write them down. I wished I had the full day for writing!
Ligia de Wit Oh, hard question! I have several completed novels in draft mode and waiting to be revised, as well as several short stories that I want to put into shape.
Right now, it's a story that could be summarized as:
An anti-social young woman runs to a seaside town to escape her problems and finds that she has to depend on her baby brother, a depressed neighbor, and a supernatural entity to stand her ground and face them finally.
Ligia de Wit One of the most wondrous things about writing is when you allow yourself to be unrestricted, to let your creativity free like a kitten with a ball of yarn. See words taking shape, characters coming to life, dialogue pacing beautifully, and new lands bursting into the landscape. It's better than munching warm chocolate cookies on a Sunday morning with no chores at hand and diet be damned. It’s better than watching a great movie or reading a magnificent book since it’s your world. Your ideas are painting the white canvas of a new story.

That’s what I love about writing. Create. Imagine. Feel. Get lost in emotions and a brand new world.
Ligia de Wit I try not to think about it, or whether someone's going to read what I'm writing. So I write and write and that helps me to keep going.
